It’s been an incredible last 48-hours for Husky Avax, the flagship meme-coin on the Avalanche Network. After cooling off during June and July of this year, Husky, as well as the entire Avalanche network, began gaining momentum at the start of August. With the announcement of an $180 million DeFi incentive program made by the Avalanche Foundation on August 18th, the entire Avalanche ecosystem began to kick it into high gear. The price of AVAX saw substantial gains, as did many other tokens on the network. One such token that had an incredible weekend is Avax Husky, aided by listings on both CoinGecko and Nomics earlier in the week.
Activity began to pick up on Friday, with an uptick in buyers, people joining the Telegram channel, and a steadily increasing market cap. On Saturday, this activity increased to a fever pitch. Over the entire day, and continuing into Sunday, Husky Avax saw levels of trading and activity heretofore unseen. It broke into a seven-figure trading volume, added hundreds of unique holders, smashed its all-time high market cap and price, and was trading at a level of $80 per 1 billion Husky Avax. The price has since leveled out, but since the beginning of the week is still up nearly 600%. The Husky Telegram channel welcomed over 200 new members during this time, and those who have been with Husky since the beginning welcomed them with open arms into the Avalanche network, including those buying from the BSC network, answering any and all questions. Even French rapper Sneazzy, who has over 450,000 followers on Twitter, was tweeting about Husky.
As someone who was an early adopter of Husky Avax, it was incredible seeing so many new people join the network. I have never not been impressed by the willingness of this community to help those new to Avalanche figure out the system and guide them through every step of the process. To me, it signals a bright future for the coin, rather than just another flash-in-the-pan meme-coin so common on other networks.
Of course, the Husky Avax dev team does an incredible job engendering confidence in the token and enthusiasm in the community. Throughout the hectic weekend of activity, many members of the dev team were in and out of the Telegram channel, answering questions, posting information, and sharing insights on the future of Husky.
One key aspect of Husky Avax is the development of exclusive Husky and Avalanche merchandise and apparel, sold paired with NFT’s collateralized on the Avalanche blockchain. Having completed the sale of a hoodie earlier in the summer, it was determined that the next product to be sold would be an AVAX branded baseball cap. This cap went on sale on Sunday, August 22nd at 6:00pm UTC and will remain available for only 48 hours, or until supplies run out.
Further down the road for Husky is the launch of an e-Shop where all different types of Avalanche and Husky branded apparel will be available for purchase. Development of musical NFT’s is also continuing forward, as the Husky team is planning to create a truly unique NFT marketplace on the Avalanche ecosystem.
The entire Avalanche DeFi ecosystem is looking ahead to a bright future, and I for one am excited to see the potential of projects like Husky, a grassroots community operation that has flourished into a truly unique token.
